Ingredients & Prep

   400 g  Onions, finely sliced
   100 ml  Water
   60 g  Gram flour (chickpea)
   60 g  Self raising flour
   1 tsp  Turmeric ground
   1 tsp  Garlic powder or granules
   1 tsp  smoked paprika
   1 tsp  Coriander ground
   1 chilli powder
   1 tsp  Cumin ground
   2 tsp  Fennel seeds
   40 g  Fresh coriander chopped
   1/2 tsp  Salt
   Veg oil deep fat frying

Method

  Step 1
Place flours, salt & all dry spices in a bowl & mix well, add fresh coriander & water, mix batter together, then add onion & mix all together.
  Step 2
Heat oil in a deep fat fryer or pan to 160'c, form mixture into large golf ball sized balls, you can use 2 spoons if you wish, drop them in in batches & fry for 4 to 5 mins each turn over after 2 mins or until golden brown on both sides.
  Step 3
Keep cooked bhaji's warm in an oven until required.

Suggestion & Tips

Great with Indian food or on there own with mango chutney & mint yogurt.
