Ingredients & Prep

   1000 g  Potatoes King Edward or Maris Piper peeled thinly sliced
   450 ml  Double Cream
   500 g  Full fat whole milk
   1 Chicken stock cube or gel pot
   1 Onion large finely sliced
   2 Garlic clove finely chopped
   100 g  Butter
   1 tsp  Black pepper freshly ground
   2 pinch  Nutmeg ground


  Step 1
Place 1/4 of the butter in a sauce pan & fry onion & garlic until a very light brown, remove onion mixture then add milk & stock cube to the pan & stir to dissolve, then turn off heat, add cream & pepper mix & set aside.
  Step 2
Pre heat oven to 200'c, in an ovenproof dish layer potato slices with onion mixture, last layer just potato.
  Step 3
Pour milk, cream over the potatoes, dot over the top with the rest of the butter & sprinkle over nutmeg.

Suggestion & Tips

Great with roast meats, Duck etc.
