Ingredients & Prep
400 g
tomato passata
30 ml
cider vinegar
2 tbsp
light brown sugar
2 tbsp
tomato puree
1/2 onion med chopped
1 tbsp
olive oil
1 garlic clove finely grated
1 tsp
Fresh ginger finely grated or processed
1/2 tsp
chilli powder
1/4 tsp
ground allspice
1 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
black pepper ground
Method
Step 1
Place a saucepan on a med heat, add onions & oil & fry off until soft, add ginger, garlic, chilli powder & allspice, stir & cook for another minute.
Step 2
Add the rest of the ingredients & cook for 20 mins on a low heat stirring frequently.
Step 3
Pour hot sauce into a sterile lidded jar or container, allow to cool & store in the fridge, will last in the fridge for a month, or divide & freeze.
