Ingredients & Prep

Beef short ribs
Rub
1 tbsp
Smoked paprika
2 tsp
Onion Powder or granules
1 tsp
Ground cumin
1 tsp
Chilli powder
1 tsp
Fennel seeds crushed
1 tsp
Mustard powder
1 tsp
Salt
1 tsp
Ground black pepper
BBQ Sauce
130 g
Tomato ketchup
30 g
Black treacle
30 g
Dark brown sugar
2 tbsp
Cider vinegar
2 tbsp
Smoked paprika
1 tbsp
Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp
American mustard
1/2 tsp
Salt
1/2 tsp
Ground black pepper
Method
Step 1
Mix well all the rub ingredients in a bowl, then sprinkle all the rub into the meat, in a baking tray, cover with foil, leave for at least 2 hour or overnight in the fridge.
Step 2
Pre-heat oven to 140°C fan.
Step 3
Place tray in the oven & bake for 2 hours, take out of the oven keep sealed, set aside to cool for 2 hours.
Step 4
Next, make the BBQ sauce by putting all the ingredients in a saucepan , bring to a low simmer for 10 mins stirring often.
Step 5
Pre- heat oven temp to 180°C fan.
Step 6
In the baking tray brush sauce over the ribs, then bake for 6 mins in the oven uncovered, remove then recoat with sauce & back in for 4 mins, recoat & serve.
Step 7
Serve some extra barbeque sauce in bowls.
Suggestion & Tips
Serve with buttered corn on the cob, slaw salad & fries.
