Ingredients & Prep
2000 g
Pork rib racks cut in 1/2 trimmed & de-sinew
4 tbsp
Hosin sauce
2 tbsp
Chinese or Thai sweet chilli sauce
1 tbsp
Tomato ketchup
1 tbsp
Runny honey
1 tbsp
Dark soy sauce
1 tbsp
Rice wine or dark sherry
1 tsp
Fresh ginger grated
1 tsp
Garlic clove grated
1 tsp
Lemon juice
1 tsp
Rice wine vinegar
1/2 tsp
Chinese five spice powder
Method
Step 1
Mix well all the ingredients apart from the ribs in a bowl, then place ribs in a baking dish or tray, pour over the sauce & coat both sides, then leave in the fridge for at least for 5 hours, overnight is best.
Step 2
Pre-heat oven to 160C fan.
Step 3
Cover dish or tray with tin foil tightly & bake in the oven for 2 hours or until tender, remove & retain sauce/juice & keep warm in a pan.
Step 4
Next glaze ribs by pre-heat grill to med hot, place ribs on a rack brush with remaining sauce/juice & grill ribs on one side for 5 mins then re-brush with sauce & grill on the other.
Step 5
When all done cut each rib on one side of the rib bone & re-coat with sauce & serve.
Suggestion & Tips
Great as a starter or as part of a main meal. You can freeze ribs pre glazing , defrost & glaze as above.
