Ingredients & Prep

   600 g  Cooking apples peeled cored & chopped
   600 ml  Malt vinegar
   350 g  Onion finely chopped (in processor)
   300 g  Dark soft brown sugar
   150 g  Raisins
   100 g  Walnuts chopped
   25 g  Fresh ginger grated
   2 tsp  English mustard powder
   1 tsp  Ground coriander
   1 tsp  Ground cumin
   4 Cloves
   1 tsp  Chilli powder
   2 tsp  Salt


  Step 1
Place all the ingredients apart from the walnuts into a good sized saucepan or maslin pan, bring to the boil then reduce heat to a slow simmer stirring now & then for 2 hours.
  Step 2
Then stir in the chopped walnuts.
  Step 3
Pour into sterile jars & lids while still hot, for extra protection & shelf life, place filled jars into boiling water for 10 minutes, turn off heat & allow to cool in the water. Keep in the fridge once opened.

Suggestion & Tips

Great with cold meats & cheese.
