Ingredients & Prep
120 g
Anchovies in oil drained weight
120 g
Butter unsalted
1 Lemon zest & juice
2 tsp
Capers
1/2 tsp
Ground mace
1/2 tsp
Ground ginger
1/4 tsp
Ground cinnamon
1/2 Ground white pepper
Method
Step 1
In a saucepan add mace, ginger, white pepper & cinnamon, place over a low heat & heat to just hot without smoke but hot, then add butter to melt only, do not colour.
Step 2
Place anchovies, capers, lemon zest & juice into a food processor & blitz, then pour in the melted butter mixture & blitz again until smooth.
Step 3
Spoon relish into sterile pot/s & place in the fridge, it should last for 2 months.
Suggestion & Tips
Classic relish, nice just on toast. Add some chilli powder if you like a bite.
